Blender Oatmeal pancakes

Lately I had been craving Oatmeal pancakes, so I just went online, looked for a recipe, and found lots of them but of course, I went for the easiest one. We had them last night for dinner and they were delicious, here is the recipe.

Blender Oatmeal Pancakes

3/4 cup quick oatmeal

1 1/2 cups buttermilk

1/4 cup to 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 tsp. vanilla (optional)

1 Tbsp. sugar

3/4 tsp. baking soda

3/4 tsp. salt

2 eggs

Put all ingredients in blender and process for about 30 seconds. Start with 1/4 cup flour plus 2 tbsp; if the batter is too liquid, add the remaining flour or enough flour to thicken to desired consistency. For lighter pancakes, use less flour; for heavier, thicker pancakes, add more flour.

Pour small circles onto a well greased and moderately hot skillet (a droplet of water dropped onto skillet should "dance").

Cook first side until edges are done and have little bubbles; turn and cook other side for an equal amount of time, or until cooked through (about 2 minutes per side).

Serve with applesauce, mashed cooked bananas, or your favorite toppings.

Baby Shower in Mexico

A few months ago, my husband and I traveled down to Mexico for a week and spend Thanksgiving Day with my family.While we were there it was also my Dad's birthday, and my family had a Baby shower planned for me. It was in the terrace of a nice restaurant, and they invited all of my friends and family. It was so nice to see them all since I don't get see them everytime I go visit. We had great appetizers, a delicious meal, beautiful and yummy desserts, they also had a couple of  fun games, my Aunt shared a little of God's word with all of us, and my wonderful husband brought a Trio at the end when we were opening gifts. It was really a great time!! Everybody made me feel so special; they all were so happy for us and filled us with love, good wishes and lots of gifts for our baby girl.

       



A big blessing!!

 This November my husband and I will be married five years, have to confess life together hasn't been always easy, but this five years with him have been the best in my life. The Lord has filled our marriage with many many blessings but I consider this one to be one of the biggest ones.  After a while praying, the Lord answered our prayers. This past fourth of July my husband and I found out we are expecting, we are very happy, excited and a bit scared haha!!...But we are very thankful with the Lord for sending this baby at his time and we pray for wisdom, strength and everything we need to guide this baby through his path.

German Pancakes

German pancakes or also called Dutch babies, are one of my husbands favorites for breakfast, and it is very easy to make.

German Pancakes

4 eggs
1 cup flour
1 cup milk
1/4 teaspoon salt
Shake of cinnamon
1/4 cup butter, melted in pan in oven.

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.While the butter is melting in a 9x13" pan, put the first five ingredients in a blender and mix. When the butter is completly melted, pour the mix in the pan and bake for 15 minutes or until the bottom is brown. Serve with maple syrup. Enjoy!

I need thee every hour

For the past two weeks, I've been enjoying a blog called Women Living Well (www.womenlivingwell-courtney.blogspot.com). This blog is all about being a women; a homemaker, a cook, a Christian, a wife, etc..it has been encouraging to me and I hope it can be to you too.

Yesterday she posted a video called "Praying continually". I can't say I did it all day but I did for about 4 or 5 hours. It was amazing, I was able to thank the Lord for things I rarely do in a more specific way; like his creation, protection, mercy, love and other many things that probably I see and live everyday, but don't stop and say THANK YOU LORD. I was also able to ask the Lord for help even in the littleist things. I loved doing it. I definitely will try it again.

Simply Relevant / Chocolate Boutique..."God's Grace is Surprising"

Simply Relevant / Chocolate Boutique is a six week Bible series that will help you develop relationships with other women as you grow in your relationship with God. OK, so what's a Bible series got to do with chocolate, you ask? Well, this series is all about God's grace----how richly , extravagantly, and surprisingly he indulges us with his love and grace. And what better metaphor for grace is there than chocolate?

Last Wednesday some of my friends and I started this Bible series. I found this book at a Christian Book store in town, a few weeks ago, and thought it would be fun to do it with my friends. So I sent out an invite to all of them ,but unafortunately, not everybody was able to attend.

On our first session we talked about "God's grace is surprising". God can surprise us with his grace every day; when we are not asking for it, when we are not living for him, when we don't deserve it, he is still there for us giving us grace.

Every week before we start our Bible study, we have an experience part, last week since we were talking about "God's grace is surprising",  I wrapped chocolate kisses with yarn , and as the girls pulled the string the chocolate would fall and "suprise" them.

We had a great time learning about God's grace, I pray that every session is a blessing to each one of us, and that it makes a difference in our lives.

I don't have pictures of the first session, but I will take some of the next session and post them.

A good tip

Cleaning the bathroom was one of the chores that I most disliked. One day my mother in law (a great homemaker) called me and ask me to go and help her translate for a mexican girl she had just hired to clean her house. So I went to her house and the three of us went around the house so mom could show the girl how she cleaned and how she wanted her to do things, when we got to the bathroom, I was amazed how fast and easy she did it, and obviously I let her know how impressed I was. She told me I could go online to Don Asletts webpage ( http://www.cleanreport.com/ ) and find videos with good tips on how to clean and I could also purchase his products.
